Way to Go Joy!!

I know that Joy will not brag on herself, so I have to. She has now lost 24 lbs. with only 6 more lbs to go to reach her goal. I am so proud of her. She has really stuck with the stuff. Pray for her next Tuesday as she will have her voice recital. Joy .... I love you so much and think you are the best!

I am not doing a well. The older you get the hard it is to get your weight off. So, everyone needs to get it off NOW!
I have lost a total of 15 pounds and 11 inches.

Way to Go Joy!

Wow! That is absolutely amazing. I cannot believe the progress. I am so very proud of you and cannot wait till you hit your target. I can't wait to see you again! This should be a huge encouragement to everyone. I know that it has been hard for Jacob to figure out how to stay consistent with his food diary, so maybe you could share exactly what you are doing and how you are maintaining all of it. Thank you so very much for your progress report!

total weight loss

Well no one has blogged on here for a long time so I thought I would share my total loses

I have lost a total of 15 pounds, 4 inches in my waist, 5.5 in my hips, 3.5 in my chest, and 2.2 in my thighs.
As of today I am half way there! I have been on this diet for 70 days. So i figure 70 days to get me half way, I need another 70 days to be all the way!

Just thought I would share... I think we need to hear from mom now! She is doing amazing! She looks great!

Way to go mom I love you!

I"M IN

Well guys i"m in. Now I can contribute! yay....

Mom bought me new scales. They are really nice. It gives you your BMI, Body fat, Body water, and somthing else but I can think of it right now. they are really nice. Now hopefully I can keep up with my weight loss a little better than changing scales and place that I weigh. It should be a little easier.

HOw is everyone else doing?

Just Checking up on Everyone

Hello,

I have been out of town for a few days for a tournament so I haven't been around to check the blog and what not. I was just wondering if anyone had some good news about their week so far.

Joy, I have been trying to add you to the blog. I sent an invite to joy.via@ciuonline.com . . . is that not right? Let me know.

Is everyone keeping up with their calories and water intake? I skipped a few days so my info is going to be off a bit, but I have been trying to make sure that I am exercising at least a little everyday. Give us all an update when you get the chance!

What in the World?

Now I am having problems with this blog as well. It won't even let me (the Admin) post a comment under a new post! I am going to hand this blog over to Jacob and he can deal with all of this . . . I clearly have no clue what I am doing : (

Anyways, here is my comment to Janet on her previous post:

Way to go Janet on 30 minutes on the Treadmill!

Since we have been tracking our exercise online, I have actually been more eager to get my housework done simply do to the fact that I get to put it in as calories burnt! I get so excited to take an extra trip up and down our stairs doing laundry. Who knew that trying to live a healthy lifestyle would also help me around the house as well? I just love the drive I get from doing the diary. I actually started spring cleaning already too!

Keep up the good work everyone, cause I think this work will help more then just our exercise habits!

Excerise! What is That?

Well, praise the Lord. I excerised today. Thanks to my husband. My body almost forgot what that was. OK, guys....if I can do it 52 lbs. overweight and at 52, what is your excuse????

E-mails

Hey Via Family,

Could you all post your e-mails on here so that I can get everyone involved in this blog? I don't have a majority of the via family e-mails, so if you know all of them, then feel free to post them as well. Thanks so much!

Started Back

So I started back on my food diary this week. It's so easy to forget to record your food and stuff but I'm trying to develop the habit. So... "I'm getting rid of you this summer."

Welcome Via Family!

We now have a wonderful discussion area for all you Via family members out there who are trying to create a healthy lifestyle this new year by using myfooddiary.com (you can join us even if you don't use this website, too). In this blog, we can boast in our achievements, help one another when we get frownies, and create an overall positive atmosphere for healthy lifestyles as we run this race together. Most of all, we come here to remember that we do this not for ourselves, but for the glory of the Lord.

I try to keep these verses in mind daily as I go about my work, ministries, child rearing, and daily lifestyle tasks:

Ecclesiastes 2:4-11 (New International Version)

4 I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. 5 I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees. 7 I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. I also owned more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me. 8 I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired men and women singers, and a harem [a] as well—the delights of the heart of man. 9 I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed with me.

10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my work,
and this was the reward for all my labor.

11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.

(Let me know if I am totally using this out of context please : )

In ministry, we often get so involved in other areas of our lives that our bodies become the brunt of all of our wear and tear. Stress, lack of sleep, bad eating habits, and more become the norm when trying to help others. In all actuality, lack of a healthy lifestyle is exactly that which is holding us back in ministry. Let us come together seeking to glorify our Lord and Saviour by cleaning up our lives one little smiley face at a time (again, another reference to the myfooddiary.com).
